Upon receiving the textbooks, students will be enrolled and have 90 days of access to complete the course. This is an elective class to earning the Basic or Advanced Chaplain Certificate. Course Description: This comprehensive study equips students with an understanding of the dynamics of moral injury as the damage done to one’s conscience or moral compass when a person perpetrates, witnesses, or fails to prevent acts that transgress their own moral and ethical values or codes of conduct. Students will examine the underlying theological aspects of the soul and conscience while exploring faith-based, soul care rituals which help those recovering from moral injury in the military, public safety, healthcare, and disaster relief professions. This advanced course will provide a strong foundation for caregivers and Chaplains to provide soul care in many of the functional areas of Chaplaincy. Prerequisite: CTA 5100 Foundations of Chaplaincy. This is an elective course for the Basic and Advanced Chaplain Certificate.
