Description
This course provides a comprehensive study into the key themes, concepts, and leadership principles that relate to how chaplains and ministry leaders create and maintain personal and spiritual resilience as they give of themselves in ministry. Students will examine the impact of demanding schedules, multiple roles, taxing responsibilities, and challenging work environments as some of the major stressors facing chaplains serving outside the four walls of the church. Special emphasis will be placed on the “Resilience Life Cycle” which provides a holistic approach to spiritual wellness for chaplains. Students will explore various resilience programs that various institutions use to develop resilience in leaders. Participants will discover theological aspects of resiliency in the lives of biblical characters. (6 Continuing Education Units)
