Basic Chaplain Course

Chaplains and Burnout (CTA 6200)

Description
CTA 6200 – Chaplains and Burnout is an online, self-paced course with 8 modules. You will earn 5 Continuing Education Units (CEUs) and receive a signed Certificate of Completion after completing all assignments. Upon receiving the textbooks, you will be enrolled and have 90 days of access to complete the course. This is an elective class to earning the Basic Chaplain Certificate.

Course Description: Chaplains are shepherds in their own right. They add to the ecclesiastical duties of the pastorate the stresses of outreach to spiritually non-heterogeneous populations. Whether you are a volunteer chaplain to first responders or a paid chaplain in the military or hospital environment, this course challenges you to examine your work-life balance, your personal spiritual connection with God, how satisfying you presently feel your ministry is, and whether you may be experiencing emotional and spiritual exhaustion. In other words, this course will either prepare you to avoid burnout, or help you build the capacity to recover from it.
