Description
This course explores the key principles and practices of spiritual and pastoral care within the context of chaplaincy. Students will engage in theological reflection, ethical considerations, and practical skills necessary for providing compassionate and effective spiritual care. Special focus will be given to understanding spirituality, world faith expressions, and providing spiritual needs assessments in different ministry contexts. Students will gain fundamental knowledge, skills, and abilities in the ten functional areas of chaplaincy. This course will develop the skills of professional chaplains, part-time chaplains, volunteer chaplains, seminary/divinity/theological students, and anyone else interested in chaplaincy or the ministry of pastoral care.
